Arthur "Joe" Pregent

Arthur J. “Joe” Pregent, 80, of Lancaster, Ohio, died Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Altercare Rehabilitation Center. He was born Oct. 29, 1941, in Mechanicville, New York, a son of the late Arthur and Margaurite Smith Pregent. He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Beth) Pregent and Jeffrey (Jessica) Pregent, both of Lancaster, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Austin Pregent and Joslynn Pregent; his brothers, Dave (Debbie) Bible, Kenny (Beverly) Bible, Melvin Bible; his sisters, Arlena Seipel, Lyla (Bud) Bradle, Bonnie Bible, Virginia Bailey, Joyce DeMoranville, Tina Marie Pregent; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Shelva Bible Pregent; brothers, Jim Seipel, Kenneth Roy, Frankie Bible and Andrew Pregent; sisters, Peggy Gaston and Shirley Roy; father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Myrtle Bible. Joe served in the Army and was a custodian for Lancaster City Schools. He was an avid Ohio State football fan. He was loved by family, friends and co-workers for his work ethic and sense of humor. Friends and family will be received at Halteman Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5-7 PM. Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10 AM-12 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12 PM at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Davis, WV. Burial will be at Flanagan Hill Cemetery, Red Creek, WV.
