Beatrice Poling

August 22, 1930 — January 17, 2026

Aurora

Beatrice Eldean Poling, 95, of Aurora, passed away on January 17, 2026, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on August 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Smith) Harsh.

Beatrice, a proud graduate of Aurora High School, was the devoted heart of her family and a beloved presence in her community. Known for her boundless love as a mother and her exceptional gifts as a homemaker, she created a warm, welcoming home filled with care and kindness. A faithful member of Stemple Ridge Church, she found deep joy in her spiritual life and the fellowship of her congregation. Her true passion, however, bloomed outdoors-she was an avid gardener and skilled arborist who delighted in nurturing plants, tending to trees, and coaxing beauty from the earth. Beatrice thrived in the open air, embracing anything that kept her connected to nature, while cheerfully leaving housework to others. Her most incredible legacy remains the enduring love she showered upon her family, a love that continues to comfort and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her three children, Darlene Boyett of Wadsworth, OH, Roger Harsh and wife Rhonda of Waverly, WV, and Gloria Crabtree and husband Scott of Aurora, WV; five grandchildren, Amy Barkley and husband Jim, Chuck Boyett, Jason Harsh and wife Raquel, April Hunt, and Kelly Reed and husband Chris; eleven great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; and her Brother, Lyle Harsh and wife Mary Ann.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Glenn Harsh, to whom she was married on June 5, 1948; and her siblings, Donald Smith, Dale Harsh, Jean Starr, Richard Harsh, and Linda Liston.

Beatrice's request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel is honored to be serving her family.
