It is with celebratory hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce "The Celebration" of Bishop Robert Wayne Fletcher, affectionately known as Bob or Papi, on May 4, 2026. Bob departed this world peacefully at the hospital, surrounded by the loving embrace of his family, and went to his heavenly home. Born on August 20, 1957, in Jacksonville, NC, Bob was a beacon of faith, love, and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob was the cherished son of the late Bishop Robert Henry Fletcher and Jackie Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, and his legacy lives on through his devoted wife of 48 years, Suzy Fletcher, their two miracle sons, Josh (Lauren) and Jesse (Lindsey); his sister, Jody Lohr (Harland), and beloved nephew, Daniel; and his treasured grandchildren Aliyah, Judah, Hannah, Naomi, Jadon, Gabrielle, and Jael. A proud graduate of Southern Garrett High School in 1975, Bob pursued higher education with great zeal, earning a master's degree in Psychological Counseling and a doctorate in Biblical Theology. These academic achievements laid the foundation for a remarkable 48-year career in ministry, where Bob served as a full-time senior pastor at multiple churches as well as a church planter. His unwavering commitment to revitalizing struggling congregations was a testament to his profound faith and dedication.
Bob's impact stretched far beyond the pulpit, speaking at conferences and revivals, where thousands of souls found salvation through his service. Bob's ministry extended across continents, notably in Jamaica and Africa, where his sermons brought healing and deliverance to countless individuals. He was instrumental in sending forth hundreds of ministers, ordaining them internationally, and witnessing their continued success in reaching souls. Yet, perhaps the most transformative aspect of Bob's ministry was his unwavering compassion for the least among us. He initiated outreach programs, providing free meals to low-income communities to create spaces of love and acceptance for children in need. The Fletcher home was a sanctuary for many, a testament to Bob's boundless generosity and unwavering faith. Whether welcoming individuals from different countries, rescuing trafficked victims, or providing refuge for those seeking restoration from addiction, the Fletcher family opened their hearts and home without hesitation.
Bob's life was a living testament to the power of love and the enduring legacy of kindness. In his personal life, Bob was an ardent outdoorsman, finding solace in nature's embrace. His love for the woods and water was woven into the fabric of family traditions, from ice fishing expeditions to cherished hunting trips. A devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, Bob's enthusiastic "Boomer Sooner!" will forever echo in the hearts of those who shared his passion for sports. Bob's commitment to ministry was matched by his dedication to family. He was a guiding light, a loving father, and an unwavering presence at every game and life event. A humble and sacrificial soul, Bob consistently put others before himself, teaching his family the virtues of grace and humility.
A service celebrating Bob's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, viewing at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Rd, Oakland, MD 21550. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salpinx Ministries at www.salpinxministries.com, continuing Bob's legacy of compassion and outreach, and desire to sound the trumpet of Christ's soon return!
The Fletcher family extends their heartfelt appreciation to all friends, ministers, Loch Lynn Church of God, Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Home, and everyone who has shared their love and support during this time of loss. Bob's spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched-a testament to a life dedicated to faith, family, and the profound love of God.
