Oakland

Bonnie Lee (Talkington) Long, 69, of Oakland, passed away on August 25, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side. Born on June 6, 1957, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Olive Talkington.

Bonnie was a wonderful caregiver who dedicated herself to residential home care with UCP, offering patience, kindness, and steady support to those in her care. She found joy in simple, loving work at home as well: cooking and baking, especially for her family; decorating for every season; and stitching, cross-stitching, and other crafts. Above all, she treasured her relationship with God and time spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Dawn Buzzard, and husband, Larry Werner; grandchildren, Devin Pierce, Jaron Weimer and wife Kaelee, and Morgan Weimer; great-grandchildren, Rhett and Beckett Weimer; siblings, Alice Estep and husband Bill, and Darriel Talkington and wife Sabrina; and sister-in-law, Mary Talkington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Ray Buzzard; and siblings, Ruth Mickey, David Talkington, and Daniel Talkington.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel is honored to be serving Bonnie's family.
