Cathy Wilt

Cathy Sue Wilt, 73, of Oakland, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on January 15, 1952, in Morgantown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Benson W. Unger, Sr. and Susan M. (Yeager) Unger.

Cathy worked for Appalachian Crossroads in Oakland for 34 years. In her free time, enjoyed shopping and spending time at the beach. Cathy will be lovingly remembered for being an excellent cook and baker. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 35 1/2 years, James E. Wilt; her son, Alan Wilt and wife Cindy of LaVale; grandchildren, Garrett Shewbridge and fiancee Bethann, Katrina Murray and husband Jason, and Paige Wilt and fiance Nate; great granddaughter, Wrenley Faith Murray; and two great grands on the way; a sister, Carol Carr and husband David of Hutton; a brother, Warren Unger and wife Bonnie of Lewistown, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Lee.

According to her wishes, Cathy will be cremated.
