Clifford D. Pennington, Sr., 84, of Dryfork, passed away on September 19, 2026, at Cortland Acres. Born on July 5, 1942, in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Hoy and Beulah Pearl (Judy) Pennington.

Clifford attended Lanesville School and went on to make farming the center of a life he loved. He was passionate about working the land and equally at home in the woods and on the water, finding lasting joy in hunting, fishing, and the horses he kept as an avid horseman. A true jack of all trades, he was a skilled carpenter, plumber, electrician, and mechanic who could build, repair, or figure out almost anything. He never hesitated to help anyone who asked, he was a father and grandfather whose love left a deep mark on his family and community.

He is survived by his children, Clifford D. Pennington, Jr., Paula M Pennington Mullenax, and Roy J Wilfong; grandchildren, Allen J Mullenax and Laura M Mullenax; Randa (Vance) Wolford whom he treated as his granddaughter.; His previous wife of 48 years, Jeraldine A (Wilfong) Pennington Ketterman ; his faithful dog and cat, Max and Puss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kelley Wayne Pennington, and Glenda Marie Pennington, Michael Eugene Pennington ; his companion, Rosalie Vance. His beloved horse Babe;

Clifford's request for cremation was honored. There are no services scheduled at this time.
