Donald Peed

Donald B. Peed, 86, of Oakland, passed away on May 27, 2025, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on July 5, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Hubert and Elizabeth (Sheppard) Peed.

He served in the United States Army National Guard, and worked as a painter for Westinghouse Electric. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed hunting and wood carving. He was humbled and honored to take part in countless military funeral honors for his fellow veterans.

He is survived by his grandson, Bryan Hansel; two siblings, Dolly Wilson and Frances Kroener; and son-in-law, Leonard Hansel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Peed, a daughter Karen (Peed) Hansel and two brothers, Robert "Bob" Peed and Hubert Peed.

Friends will be received on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A., - Oakland Chapel, 21 N. Second St., Oakland. Military honors will be accorded by the combined Honor Guard of the Deer Park VFW Post #10077 and the American Legion Post #71 at 1 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
