Dorothy Barnard

Dorothy "Dot" Dell Barnard, 96, of Swanton, passed away on May 6, 2024, at Peace Healthcare at Dennett Road. Born on July 21, 1927, in Westernport, and raised in Luke, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edna (Fazenbaker) Biggs.

Dot was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mother. For many years, she baked and decorated wedding and special occasion cakes. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by three children, Bill Barnard and wife Debbie, Brenda O'Brien and husband Bob, and Karen Reckner; three grandchildren, Jennifer Barnard and husband Chris Bern, Bryan Barnard, and Bob Barnard and partner Jane Conley; and four great grandsons, Austin, Lucas, Eli, and Carter Barnard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan W. Barnard, and a son-in-law, Rick Reckner.

Following Dot's wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held. She will be interred next to her husband in the family cemetery on Chestnut Grove Road, Swanton. The C&S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland, is honored to be serving the Barnard family at this time.
