Edward William Peterson, 59, of Oakland, passed away at his home on September 25, 2026. Born on December 21, 1966, in Central Islip, NY, he was the son of the late Jerome and Leona (Insler) Peterson.

Edward spent his working years as an Account Manager for Grainger, a role that rewards reliability, follow-through, and a steady hand with customers. Those same qualities carried into the rest of his life. He served in the United States Air Force, and after coming home, he remained a faithful member of Loch Lynn Church of God, where he was known for showing up, serving quietly, and treating people with the same consistency he brought to his work.

Away from the job and the church, Edward's pleasures were simple and well-chosen. He liked the television on-sports when a game was worth watching, true crime when a story held his attention-and he could lose an afternoon to Scrabble or to watching birds. Those small, regular habits, together with his service and his long membership at church, sketched a life that was unpretentious, loyal, and rooted in the same community he never left.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Julie (Warnick) Peterson, to whom he was married on September 4, 2004; his son, Charles Edward Peterson; and his brother, Martin Peterson and wife Stasha of Downington, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Peterson and husband Eddie Garcia.

Edward's request for cremation was honored. There are no services scheduled at this time.
