Emory Lewis Martin, Jr., 79, of New Albany, IN, passed away on September 15, 2026. Born on March 17, 1947, in Clarksburg, WV, he was the son of the late Emory Lewis and Florence Maxine (Crim) Martin.

Emory built a long and steady career at Northrop Grumman in program and business management, bringing order, accountability, and quiet competence to work that demanded both. He was a proud member of the NRA and found real pleasure in the outdoors-especially hunting-and in the freedom of the open road on a motorcycle. Those interests never outranked what he held closest: time with his family. He delighted in the company of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and he measured a good life in those gatherings as much as in any professional milestone. That same sense of duty shaped his military service. From 1964 to 1986, he proudly served in the United States Army, including during the Vietnam War, and he carried the discipline and loyalty of those twenty-two years through the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Howerton Martin, to whom he was married on February 15, 2018; children, David Martin and wife Debra of Shanks, WV, Lisa Gaddis and husband Don of Hollywood, MD, Kristy Cheshire and husband John of Romney, WV, Jackie Randolph and husband Dan of Louisville, KY, Brent Parker and wife Heather of New Salisbury, IN, and Denise Bleavides and husband Corey, of Louisville, KY; a son in law, Wayne Keller of Capon Bridge, WV; grandchildren, Jeffrey Keller and wife Courtney of Capon Bridge, WV, Ian Keller of Springfield, VA, Jennifer Fenelon of Hollywood, MD, Shannon Boyer and husband Bo of Capon Bridge, WV, Christian Shank and husband Lucas of Romney, WV, Katelyn Lease and husband Corey of Romney, WV, Emily Randolph of New Albany, IN, Joe Randolph of Washington, D.C., Tessa Bleavides of Louisville, KY, Blake Beavides of Louisville, KY, Devin Doahue of Louisville, KY, Scarlett Sulivan of New Salisbury, IN, and Bryce Parker of Corydon, IN; siblings, Douglas Martin, Terry Hull and husband Jimmy, and Kenneth Martin and wife Cindy, all of Davis, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Keller, and two siblings, Bridget Kennard and Jerry Martin.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 12 to 1 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home, with Pastor Dale Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Thomas.
