Ethel Lorraine Harvey, 85, of Kitzmiller, passed away on February 24, 2026, at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland. Born on November 4, 1940, in Kitzmiller, she was the daughter of Theodore Paugh and wife Mary, and Dorothy Paugh.

Ethel had a deep love for animals, especially her faithful dog Ginger, who brought her endless joy. She cherished the rhythms of farm life, finding particular delight in nurturing lambs and embracing the simple, hardworking joys of rural living.

A talented homemaker, Ethel enjoyed baking and preparing hearty meals for her family, filling the home with warmth and the comforting aromas of home-cooked food. Her gardens were a source of pride-she lovingly tended vibrant flowers in spring and summer, along with a thriving vegetable garden that provided fresh produce throughout the seasons.

In her younger years, she took great satisfaction in canning, preserving the bounty of her harvests to enjoy year-round. Ethel also treasured time spent shopping with her daughters, creating cherished memories through these shared outings and everyday moments together.

Her passions reflected a life filled with care, creativity, and deep affection for both family and the natural world around her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert O. Harvey, to whom she was married on September 6, 1958; four children, Leeanna Marks and husband Ken of Kitzmiller, Connie Schmidt and husband Jim of Swanton, Patty Barnhouse and husband John of Kitzmiller, and Roberta Sweitzer of Easton; seven grandchildren, Brandon Marks and wife Francesca of Austin, TX, Logan Marks and wife Heather of Swanton, Clarissa Harvey and husband Kenny of Fairmont, WV, Billy Brown and wife Kenzie of Elk Garden, WV, and Joshua Brown and wife Hannah of Swanton, Jennifer Kelly and husband Keith of Oakland, and Nathan Bender of Westernport; eight great grandchildren, Rowan Marks, Murphee Marks, Madden Marks, Will Brown, Isaac Kelly, Amara Kelly, Carson Kelly, and Damion Brown; two great great grandchildren Jesse Brown and Wyatt Brown; and siblings, Teddy Paugh of Elkton, Kenny Paugh and wife Judy of Elkton, Mary Buchanan of MO, Valeri Maley of Delaware, and Brian Paugh of Wilmington, DE.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Miles Paugh.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11 to 1 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Kitzmiller Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Paugh officiating. Private interment will take place in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
