Eva Mae (Perando) Clary lived a life full of love, friendship and an unwavering support of others.
With heavy hearts we announce the death of Eva Mae Clary, 77, of Deer Park, Maryland, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Terra Alta, West Virginia.
Eva Mae was born on February 12, 1949, in Kitzmiller, Maryland, to the late Wolford Perando and Madeline "Madge" V. (Burgess) Perando Stark and Harold F. Stark. Eva Mae was a graduate of Southern Garrett High School in Oakland, Maryland, and she married the love of her life, Charles E. Clary, on June 21, 1968.
As the youngest of five siblings, Eva Mae often cared for her younger nieces and nephews and as they got older, enjoyed their visits immensely. Always in that loving motherly support role, Eva Mae never missed an event for her children; ever present for plays, choral events, Girl Scout outings, school trips, volleyball games, and so much more, her devotion was unquestionable. Known for her lively personality, beautiful smile and home cooking, family gatherings were often a showcase for her famous homemade noodles, potato salad or beef-wrapped onions. She enjoyed gardening and puzzles, motorcycling with her husband, traveling, snow skiing, crabbing at her sister's and her many friends, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She shared 56 loving years with her beloved husband, Charlie, and cared for him at home before his death. To her beloved family, she was our first call, our constant supporter, our home, and will be deeply missed.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bud" E. Clary; her sister, Joan L. Hawk; her brothers, Wolford E. "Bud/Hunky" Perando, Alden R. Perando and Dale E. Perando.
Eva is survived by her devoted daughters, Stacy L. Clary and husband Vasillios J. "Bill" Pikounis and Rebecca J. Clary and husband Mondo Polce; grandchildren, Kalliope "Kalli" Mae Pikounis, Giovastin Charles Polce, and Briella Dale Polce; brother-in law, William "Bill" Hawk; and sisters-in-law, Susan (Evans) Perando and Carol (George) Perando; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Eva Mae's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org).
The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel is honored to be assisting the Clary family.
