Genevieve (Evans) Savage, 89, of Elk Garden, passed away at home on September 27, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on May 8, 1937, in Elk Garden, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Arbbelin (Halterman) Evans.

Genevieve graduated from Bayard School and became an Avon representative and proud homemaker. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of the Elk Garden Assembly of God, where she found great joy in reading her Bible and serving her community. Genevieve was known as a second mom and nanny to many of the children in town, always welcoming them into her home with open arms.

In her free time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening, and she also cheered on the New York Yankees. She cherished the moments spent with her special friends, Florence Welch, Ellen Paugh, Tillie Jones, and Annette Jones. Above all, Genevieve loved spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She will be remembered as a dedicated woman of God who touched the lives of everyone she met.

She is survived by her children, Chiquita Savage and special friend Karen Baily, Terry Savage, Jeff Savage and wife Liz, Troy Savage and girlfriend Alex David; grandchildren, Jeffrey Savage and wife Savannah, Brandi Savage, Aaron Savage and wife Karlee, Jacob Savage, Kelsie Savage, and Daniel Savage; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Juanita Rinker and husband Carl, Ken Evans and wife Karen, Rita Harvey and husband Charlie, and David Evans and wife Tammy; and sister-in-law, Patty Evans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Evans and Lee Evans.

Friends will be received on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Kitzmiller Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11 AM in the Elk Garden Assembly of God Church with Pastor Carrol Harvey officiating. Friends will be received one hour before the service. Interment will follow in the Bayard Cemetery.
