Gladys Elaine Anderson, 90, of Oakland, passed away on June 2, 2025, at Cortland Acres. Born on May 17, 1935, in Red House, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Helen K. (Mosser) Harsh.
Gladys, a proud graduate of Frostburg State College, dedicated much of her career to serving as the director of the unemployment office in Garrett County. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member and former pianist at Red House St. Johns Lutheran Church, where her music brought joy to the congregation. Known for her love of cats, Gladys found comfort in their companionship, treating them like family. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore new places through travel, but she cherished nothing more than spending quality time with her family and friends, creating memories filled with warmth and laughter.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Patty Harsh and wife Sherry Simmons, Theresa Harsh Anthony and fiance Myke Beard, Harold Harsh Jr., and wife Jana Brown, Tom Harsh and wife Cathy, and David Harsh and wife Darlene; and great nieces and nephews, Harold Harsh III, Brianna French, Casey Harsh, and Chris Harsh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold R. Harsh, Sr., her sister in law, Joanne (McRobie) Harsh, and her uncle, Ray Leland Mosser.

Gladys request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life will be held on June 21, 2025, at 11 AM in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Red House with Pastor Jack Palzer officiating.
