Glen W. Brown, III

Glen W. Brown, III, 73, of Eglon, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, while away on a trucking trip, doing the work he had always loved.

Born on September 17, 1952, in Elkins, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Glen W. Brown, Jr., and Mary (Arbigast) Brown.

A 1970 graduate of Rowlesburg High School, Glen attended college briefly before following the pull that had been with him since childhood. He first rode in the cab as a young boy and never lost that love of the road. Trucking was not just his living-it was where he was most himself, and he kept at it until his last days.

Away from the truck, Glen found the same kind of joy in fine cars. He was a member of the Mt. Top Cruisers Car Club, took pride in showing his own, and never tired of a good car show. He liked poking through flea markets, and in his younger years he loved getting out on a snowmobile. None of that, though, compared to time with his grandchildren and his dogs, who meant the world to him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy (Judy) Brown, to whom he was married on April 27, 1973; his children, Tammy Helmick and husband Jr, of Parsons, and Scott Brown and wife Cristi of Oakland; grandchildren, Bailey Brown and wife Kimberly of Terra Alta, Trenton Helmick of Parsons, Ethan Brown of Crellin, Kennide Helmick of Parsons, and Jacob Brown of Oakland; great-grandchildren, Blaikley Brown, Ryder Brown, and Raelynn Brown; and siblings, Robin Teets and husband Brad of Leesburg, FL, Vicki Pillis and husband Joe of Hagerstown, MD, Paula Sue Ross and husband Charles of Lexington, KY, Joe Brown and wife Alaina of Biglerville, PA, and Deborah Bergeron and husband Russ of Carrierre, MS.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Heather Brown.

Glen's request for cremation was honored, and there are no services scheduled at this time.
