Glen Jordan

January 27, 1961 — October 12, 2025

Glen Scott Jordan, 64, of Friendsville, MD, passed away on October 12, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on January 27, 1961, in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Conrad Lewis Jordan and Betty Jane (Gicker) Shahrokni.

Glen attended James Madison High School for his Freshman through Junior years, and graduated from George C Marshall High School in Falls Church, VA in 1980. After high school, he began working in the construction industry as a laborer and operating heavy equipment in Virginia and North Carolina. He soon advanced to labor foreman and quickly moved into supervisory roles. In 1995, a job relocation, brought him to Maryland, where he worked at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort for 11 years, in inventory control and project supervision. His most recent position was as project manager for Mortimer Builders, in Deep Creek Lake.

Glen was a proud member of the Ali Ghan Shriners, a 32nd Degree-Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Masonic Lodge #192, and a Knight of Saint Andrews. He was also known and loved as a Shriners Parade Clown. Deeply involved in his community, he volunteered for the Friendsville Rescue Squad as an ambulance driver and medic assistant, and even ran as a candidate for the Mayor of Friendsville. Glen organized and hosted Classic Car Shows at the Dairy Queen in Oakland, MD, twice a year for 14 years.

He enjoyed boating, fresh water and salt water fishing, photography, classic car restoration, golfing, white water rafting and protecting the welfare of animals.

Glen was lovingly devoted to his family, his friends, the pets who shared his life, and every wild creature that crossed his path. He found joy in feeding the ducks on the river, watching birds, and soaking in the beauty of nature. The Youghiogheny River brought him peace as it flowed past his home, and some of his happiest memories were made on vacations to the Outer Banks and Virginia Beach-watching the ocean, surf fishing, and savoring fresh seafood.

From his youthful wild adventures to his long illness and final journey, Glen lived with remarkable strength and courage. He always knew when it was time to hold on-and when it was time to let go. He had a razor-sharp wit and a gift for storytelling that could fill any room with laughter. His impressions-of animals, comedians, and celebrities-were spot-on, and his beautiful singing voice often surprised those lucky enough to hear it.

Few people could make others laugh as hard or as often as Glen did. He had no patience for ignorance, dishonesty, or disrespect-but he was fiercely loyal and protective of the people he loved. More than one person has reminded us, fondly, that he was one tough guy, if you messed with him. Beneath that toughness was a kind, generous heart of gold. He gave back to his community, earned the respect of people from all walks of life, and left a mark that won't fade.

His passing leaves a tremendous void in our lives, but we know his spirit will keep watch over us-and make sure we keep our promises. Even angels, after all, can have a crooked halo. Heaven won't be the same (in the best possible way) with Glen bringing his love and laughter.

We'll see you again, Glen. XOXOXO
