Grace Maxine Wolford, 79, of Dryfork, was reunited with her Lord and Savior, her husband, and her son on February 19, 2026. Born on September 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Goldie (Burns) Varner.
Grace was a devoted and cherished member of the Dryfork Assembly of God Church, where her unwavering faith shone brightly in every aspect of her life. A woman of tireless energy and loving hands, she found deep joy in the simple, nurturing rhythms of daily life-scrubbing floors until they gleamed, stitching beautiful quilts and garments with careful precision, preparing hearty meals that filled her home with warmth, tending her garden with patient care, and preserving the season's bounty through skillful canning. Each summer, she looked forward to her beloved vacations at Myrtle Beach, where the sound of waves and the feel of warm sand brought her peaceful renewal. Above all, Grace's strength lay in her profound trust in God and her boundless love for her family; she poured her heart into every hug, every prayer, and every shared moment, leaving an enduring legacy of devotion, kindness, and steadfast faith that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Brown and husband John of Dryfork, Tammy Elza and husband Jeff of Harman, and Doug Wolford and wife Melodee of Coalton; grandchildren, Kevin Brown and wife Jessica, Josh Brown, Casey Elza, Candace Elza, Josh Hedrick and wife Heather, DJ Wolford and wife Paige, and Ashley Wolford and fiance Hunter Shreve; great grandchildren, Kaden Brown, Kylie Brown, Easton Brown, Clarissa Hedrick, Avery Hedrick, and Huntley Wolford; daughter in law, Melody Cheuvront; sister in law, Joyce Varner; special nieces, Cheryl Pennington, Jean Sebastian, and Patty Cooper; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Wolford; son, Steavie Wolford; great granddaughter, Maddison Hedrick; and siblings, Carl Varner, Joe Varner, Kathryn Teter, Juanita Mallow, Jennie Teter, and Anna Lee Lawrence; a special niece, Debbie Lawrence; and special friends, Ruth Mullennnex and Ruth Cooper. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 12 to 2 PM, at the Dryfork Assembly of God Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, in the Church with Pastor Eddie Trayers officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonner-Wolford Cemetery.
The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel is honored to be serving the Wolford family.
