Harold "Bud" J. White, 82, of Oakland, passed away on July 17, 2026, at Dennett Rehab Center. Born on July 31, 1943, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Grace (Gnegy) White.
Harold, better known as Bud, answered his nation's call by serving in the United States Air Force immediately after graduating from Southern High School. Upon returning to civilian life, he built a steady career in insurance, working for both MetLife and Gonder Insurance, where he was known for his reliability and genuine care for the people he served.
A man of deep faith and community commitment, Bud was a longtime member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, Oakland Masonic Lodge 192, the Shriners Clown Unit, and the American Legion. Away from work and civic duties, he found joy in the quieter pursuits that defined him-meticulously building model railroads, restoring classic cars, and competing on the racquetball court.
He never met a challenge he wasn't willing to take on. He was always hands-on and self-taught; he had a talent for finding value, negotiating a good deal, and getting things done right. His hard work, determination, and down-to-earth approach earned the respect of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Jason White, and wife Adilka of Woodstock, GA; two grandchildren, Elias and Lucia White; and two siblings, Nancy Nolte of Clayton, GA, and Margaret "Margie" Spaulding of Rehoboth Beach, DE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (O'Brien) White, and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Nolte and Doug Spaulding.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM at Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, PA. - Oakland Chapel.
