James Bruce Hedrick, 82, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Elkins, WV. Born on March 10, 1944, in Red Creek, he was the son of the late James William and Gladys Hedrick.

James "Jim" Hedrick was a proud graduate of Mountaineer High School who built his career in the home construction industry. A devoted member of Flanagan Hill Church, he lived out his faith through service to others and the relationships he held dear. Jim found great joy in hunting and playing on the local softball team with the truckers, often bringing his kids along to the games so they could cheer him on from the stands.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Katheryne (Berry) Hedrick, to whom he was married on August 20, 1977; the mother of his children, Wanda "Jane" Waybright; his children, James B Hedrick and wife Becky of Clariesville, TN, Sherry Campise and husband Matt of Crocker, MO, Thomas Hedrick Jr., and wife Amber of Mechanicsville, MD, Wesley Hedrick and wife Courtney of Alexandria, VA, Jeffrey Crittenden of Thomas, WV, Michelle Kalar, Joseph Kalar, Jr., of Kerens, WV, and Mera Kunkle and husband Bill of New Martinsville, WV; fourteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and siblings, Richard Lee Hedrick, Audrey, Rosemary, Betty, Jack, Judy, and John.

Jim's request for cremation was honored. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
