Jane Stewart

Serena "Jane" Stewart, 76, of Elk Garden, WV passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on February 26, 1950, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Marshall "Babe" and Bernadette "Bernie" (Droppleman) Hottle.
Jane Cooked for the Mineral County Schools for 18 years, retiring from Elk Garden Primary School. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her sons, Marshall Stewart and girlfriend Belinda, and Louie Stewart; grandchildren, Matthew Stewart and girlfriend Meghan, Jordan Stewart and girlfriend Kiersten, and Lacy Dickens and husband Derek; great grandchildren, Brantly, Willow, Ainsley, Skylynn, and Kolton; sisters, Rita Braithwaite and husband Bill, and Tammy Gillaspie and husband David; sister in law, Sandy Stewart; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Donald F. Stewart, and a sister, Margaret Day.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Kitzmiller Chapel, 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM and at the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church, Elk Garden on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 10 to 11 AM. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 AM with Donna Burdock officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery.
