John Eric Alexander, 58, Aurora, died on May 19, 2025, at his home. Born on January 17, 1967, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Dayton and Dorothy (Shahan) Alexander.
John graduated from East Preston High School. He was a jack of all trades and a true handyman. He was a dedicated member of the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department and a past chief of the department. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for his cats and dogs.
He is survived by his son, Trevor Alexander and wife Alyssa of Aurora; his grandchildren, Olivia and Maverick Alexander; his siblings, Sue Watts and husband Wayne of Aurora, and Michael Alexander of Aurora; nieces and nephews, Bryan Watts and wife Rose, Becky Michaels and husband Robbie, and Shad Green and wife Nikki; great nieces and nephews, Amber Pennington and husband Spencer, Tyler Michaels and girlfriend Skyler, Michaela Green and boyfriend Andrew, Kiersten Green; and great great nieces, Eva Pennington, Wrenley Michaels, Remi Green, and Louna Green.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Williams and sister-in-law, Jutta Alexander.
John's request for cremation was honored. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:30 AM in the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department, 23492 George Washington Highway, Aurora, WV 26705.
