John T. Francis

John T. Francis, 79, of Keyser, passed away at his home on August 12, 2026, with his twin girls on each side of him. Born on June 28, 1947, in Keyser, he was the son of the late George J. and Wilma (Daniels) Francis. In the days and weeks before his passing, friends and family came from far and wide to pour love over him.

He is survived by his twin daughters, Gina Spriggs and Julie Francis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. John was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Peter's Church in Westernport. He earned a bachelor's degree and built a career as a Test Engineer, testing aircraft and space aeronautics systems and taking particular pleasure in the process of testing- and occasionally breaking-things.

His greatest joy in life was his twin girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As a member of the NRA, he enjoyed target practice with his grandsons. In his younger years, he found joy in photography and time spent in nature, and he never lost his deep satisfaction in working with aircraft and aeronautics. He served in the United States Air Force and was a proud member of the American Legion.

Friends and family will be received at the American Legion Boycer-Houser Post 41, 66 S Main St, Keyser, WV 26726, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 1-3, where military honors will be accorded at 2 PM. John's wishes for cremation were honored, and private services will be held at a later date for his committal.
