Joni Kim Blum, 69, of Oakland, passed away on May 21, 1956, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on Spetember 1, 1956, in Nagoya, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Jackson "AJ" and Letha Rosella (Jones) Hanlin.
Joni graduated high school from the American Academy in Athens, Greece, and later made her home in Maryland where she worked for the Garrett County Department of Social Services. A faithful member of Crossroads Church, she found great joy in her community of faith. She loved riding motorcycle trips with her husband and attending local cruise-ins together, and she always looked forward to her monthly girls' night out with friends. Above all, she cherished vacationing with her family and making regular trips to North Carolina to visit her daughter, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kevin Blum, to whom she was married on June 5, 1982; her daughter, Stasha Soto and husband Kevin of Statesville, NC; and her three siblings, Arthur Hanlin and spouse Dora of Oakland, Jerry Hanlin and spouse Chris of Navarre, Florida, and Janet (Hanlin) Roderick and spouse Paul of Swanton.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5 to 8 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 12 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Dave Marsh and Pastor Brandon Hutzel officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
