Joyce Elaine Wood

Joyce (Delaney) Wood, 59, of Harman, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2026, just two days before her birthday, May 8, 1966. Joyce was married to her loving husband, Kenny for 18 years and was a devoted wife, family member and a dear friend whose kindness and warm spirit touched all who knew her.

Joyce found her greatest happiness in the simple joys of life, especially fishing and camping at Jennings Randolph Lake. Whether sitting in the boat with a fishing pole in hand or enjoying evenings around a campfire with family and friends, Joyce felt most at peace surrounded by nature and the people she loved.

Joyce will be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will live on in the countless moments shared with family and friends and in the beautiful outdoors she cherished so deeply.

She is survived by her husband Kenny Wood; stepchildren, Meleah Wood and Brady Wood; step grandchildren, Brayden, Jace, Liam and Jolie Wood; mother, Mary Delany; aunt, Clara Wotring and husband Robert; two sisters, Shelia Strawser and husband Brian, and Andrea Singer and husband Steve; nieces and nephews, Leah Nolan and husband Josh, Sara Rhodes and husband Jarod, Jason Strawser and partner Holly Ash, and Kalie Singer; great neices and nephews, Grayson, McKenna, Emmy, and Rhett; and a step sister, Wendi Delaney Shaffer and husband Guy Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry A. Delaney.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with Edward Lewis officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Texas Cemetery in Horse Shoe Run.
