Kevin Lee Helmick

Kevin Lee Helmick, 55, passed away on June 25 at home with his family and dog, Pyke, at his side. Kevin was born April 7, 1971, and was the son of the late Robert (Bob) and Toni (Markley) Helmick.

Kevin attended Seneca Valley High School and Kinglsey Environmental Education Center. After graduating, he worked for Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD, and HH Homes, LLC., until his health started to decline. His favorite pastime for several years was competing in 4-wheeler races throughout WV. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his side-by-side. In his younger years, he was an avid duck hunter and did his own taxidermy work.

He is survived by his daughter Courtney (Jared) Helmick, brother Robert Scott (April) Helmick, two nieces Kayla (Frank) Lewis, and Dixie Daugherty, one nephew, Michael Helmick, a very special great aunt Carol (Cookie) Helmick, and two special uncles, Rick Markley and Danny Helmick. He also had several cousins, but three were more like brothers: Justin Markley, Warren, and Daniel Helmick. He will be remembered by his special friends Carl, Lisa, and Derek Huffman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Christoper Wade Helmick; grandparents Ted and Donna (Cummings) Markley and Glenn and Norma (Eichelberger) Helmick; and his beloved dog, Kleo, who was always by his side.

Friends will be received on Thursday, July 2, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Fredlock and Fenner Funeral Homes, at 567 Thomas Avenue in Davis, WV. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas, WV.
