Obituary

Linda Lee VanVranken, 83, of New Creek, passed away on April 5, 2026. Born on March 21, 1943, in Schuylerville, New York, she was the daughter of the late Elwin Laverne VanVranken and Audrey May (Bellamy) VanVranken.

Linda spent many years working as a hairdresser, a career that reflected her creativity and her love for connecting with others. She also found great joy in pet sitting, caring for animals with the same warmth and compassion she showed to everyone in her life. While living in Saratoga Springs, she attended the Methodist Church and remained deeply connected to her faith and community.

She was actively involved in every place she called home, including Saratoga Springs, New York; The Colony, Texas; and, most recently, New Creek, West Virginia. During her time in The Colony, she proudly served on the Community Image Board for 8 years and received special recognition for her dedication and contributions.

Linda had a passion for creativity and simple joys. She loved sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, cooking, and gardening. She especially enjoyed attending hot-air balloon festivals and embracing new adventures, including kayaking.

Above all, Linda cherished her family. She is survived by her two children, Audrey Drennan and Nathan VanVranken, and her two grandchildren, Sean Drennan and Corey Shayne Drennan. She also leaves behind her loyal dog, Ally, and her two beloved parakeets, who brought her daily companionship and happiness.

She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and community.
