Lisa Anne Cole of Eglon, WV, 52, passed away August 29th, 2026 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital comforted by her loving father, Robert "Bob" Cole, brother, Jeffrey Cole and partner Amy Skidmore, cousins, Robert and Jack Liston, and close friend, Isaiah Spaid. Born on March 13th, 1974 to Robert "Bob" Cole, and Grace Bolinger. Lisa brought an abundance of joy, resilience, and light into the world from the very beginning. Lisa possessed a sharp wit, an infectious laugh, and the unique ability to connect with those around her.
Though born with spina bifida, Lisa refused to be defined by her medical conditions or use of a wheelchair. Instead, she chose to define her own life through her passions. She was a dedicated animal lover and enjoyed gaming. She had a great appreciation for movies and TV dramas. She even collected celebrity photographs and autographs. Lisa also loved traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Despite her limitations, she still accomplished many things; learning how to drive and ride a bike, graduating high school, and traveling the world are just a few of those achievements. She was also a March of Dimes Poster Child. The courage of Lisa's life has taught those around her the true meaning of perseverance, grace, and unconditional joy.
Not only will Lisa be remembered for her cheerful smile beneath her favorite hat, she will also be remembered for the soft spot she held for her furry friends; treating each and every one like a valuable family member. She particularly loved her Dachshund's. Above all, she will be remembered for her optimism and resilience. Lisa was a treasure and will be sadly missed. We couldn't have asked for a better daughter, sister, niece, cousin, or friend. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Lisa is survived by her devoted father Robert "Bob" Cole and brother Jeffrey Cole, as well as a loving community of extended family, and friends who became family. She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, and several extended family members.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the community of friends and professionals that have provided compassion, support, and care throughout Lisa's life.
A memorial service will be held at Brookside Church in Aurora, WV at a later date. The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel, is honored to be serving the Cole family at this time.
