Marjorie A. Lee, 90, of Swanton, MD, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on September 19, 1935, in Swanton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Sara (Sharpless) & Harlan Burk Friend.
Marjorie was known for always having fun and living a life full of love, faith, and strength. She enjoyed traveling, playing slots, bingo, cards, and spending time with her family. She was recognized for her legendary, famous peanut butter fudge!
She is survived by her children, Chris Lee and wife Noel of Swanton, Cathy Hinebaugh and husband John, of Swanton and Amelia Courthouse, VA, Harland Lee and wife Sharon of Oakland; daughters in law, Brenda Lee of Keyser, WV, and Barbie Sweitzer and husband Rodney of Swanton; nine grandchildren, Carissa Montoya, John Hinebaugh Jr., Jason Hinebaugh and wife Becca, Shelly Lee, Ricky Lee and wife Amanda, Trisha Woods, Beth Sweitzer, Sara Rodriquez and husband Luis Carlos, and Bill Sweitzer; sixteen great grandchildren, Logan, Lilly, Delaney, William, Logan, Jacalyn, Collin, Nolan, Kriya, Thamor, Kerianna, Willa, Syrus, Ricky II, Heidi and Dakota; two brothers, Audrey Friend, David Wayne Friend and wife Austine; and a sister in law Carol Friend; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, many, many friends, and her beloved dog Rascal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Alvin L. Lee; a son, Richard A. Lee; brother, Jim Friend, sisters in law, Brenda Friend, Freda Lee; and brother-in-law, John Lee.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Fredlock and Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A.- Oakland Chapel, 21 N 2nd St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Vickie Minnich officiating. A graveside service will take place immediately afterward at the Garrett Co. Memorial Gardens. And a celebration of life will be held at a later date in August, with times to be announced. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice of Garrett County, Bittinger VFD, Deer Park VFD, Independent Dialysis Center in Oakland, GTS, and all the nursing staff who have helped over the years. Donations can be made in honor of Mrs. Lee to the Hospice of Garrett County.
