Davis

Martin F. Wach, AKA: "Dad", "Daddy", "Grandpa Marty Wach", and "Marty the Gardener", 82, of Davis, passed away from natural causes on April 13, 2026. He is survived by his spouse of 59 years, Delia Bowman Wach, and his two daughters: Holly Wach and Heather Bittinger, as well as four grandchildren: Cali, Teya, Logan, and Morena. He is also survived by four brothers: Richard "Rick" Wach, Robert "Bob" Wach, Thomas "Tom" Wach, and Gerard Wach.

Martin was a published author with eight books in circulation. He traveled extensively and had a special connection to Haiti and Suriname. He was a great story teller and may have had a tendency toward embellishment but he was always wanting to tell a better story. Through his books, speaking engagements, and gardens, he was able to reach many of our youth. He was an avid gardener and had a green thumb, which he shared with his family. He started community gardens all over the country and wanted to connect people with plants and nature. He was very proud of his "Seeing hand garden," on wheeling island. He had an interest in social and educational programs and wanted to be a problem-solver.

The family will have a celebration of life on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2 PM, at 238 William Ave., Davis. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel, is honored to be serving the family at this time.
