Mary Johnson

Mary Veronica Johnson, 82, of Thomas, passed away on November 18, 2025, at Cortland Acres. Born on December 13, 1942, in Rochester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Virginia (Bennear) Milkint.

Mary was a graduate of Mountaineer High School. She worked for many years at the National Wildlife Federation, in forests and wetlands, and with the wildlife that called them home. A devoted parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, she drew quiet strength from her faith and the familiar rhythm of Mass. In her free hours, Mary's hands were rarely idle-she baked cakes and pies that filled the house with warmth, sewed and mended countless garments, pieced together quilts that told stories in fabric, and coaxed flowers and vegetables from the rich soil. Yet above all these gifts, what mattered most to her was the laughter and conversation that spilled across the kitchen table when her children and grandchildren gathered, those precious moments when time slowed and the world felt exactly right.

She is survived by her children, Robert "BJ" Johnson and fiance Denise of Conway, SC, Terry Johnson and wife Pat of Luray, VA, and Theresa "Tracey" LePage and husband Ray of Harrisburg, NC; her grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica LePage, Kalie LePage, Cheyene Johnson-McCall, Shannon and David Robinson, Terry "TJ" and Debbie Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Erin and Kevin Willis, Cody and Jessica Johnson; her great grandchildren, Carter, Travis, Lilli, Layna, Macei, Troy, Paisley, Charlee, and Madisyn; and her brother, Louis Charles "Chuck" Milkint and wife Mary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald "Ron" Johnson.

Friends will be received on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
