Mary Susan McWhorter

Mary Susan McWhorter, 63, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away on September 20, 2026, at her residence. Born on May 16, 1963, in Parsons, WV, she was the daughter of Glenn Claude Wilcox and Inza Elizabeth "Liz" Wilcox.

Mary Susan was a proud homemaker who found her greatest joy in the everyday life she built with her family. She loved spending time with them above all else, and her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her world. She spoiled her husband, Mark, with steady care and affection that made their home feel warm and complete, and she never hid how proud she was of the life she created as a homemaker. For her, that role was not a duty but a calling she embraced with an open heart.

Beyond the kitchen and the family table, Mary Susan's days were filled with the things that made her feel most alive. She loved gardening, reading, camping, being outdoors, fishing, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. Animals mattered deeply to her as well; she had a special place in her heart for her tortoises and loved animals in general. Those quiet, hands-on pleasures-whether she was tending plants, working yarn with her hands, or simply sharing the outdoors with the people and creatures she cherished-gave her life texture.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Mark McWhorter, to whom she was married on July 14, 2006; her children, Julie Ford and husband Kevin of Clarksburg, WV, Mark Justin McWhorter of Willard, KY, Nikki Smith and husband Jeremy of Willard, KY, and Krystal Noel McWhorter of Willard, KY; grandchildren, Maddie Grace, James, Morgan, Kara, Jenna, Anniston, Sophia, and Gunner; and her sister, Lynnette Myers and husband David.

She was preceded in death by Danny Good; siblings, Elaine Wilcox and David wilcox; and grandaughter, Kennedi McWhorter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tucker County Animal Shelter in Mary Susan's name.

Mary Susan's request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 12 PM, in the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel with Pastor James Snyder officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
