Mary Moats

Mary Carol Moats, 74, of Aurora, passed away on January 11, 2025, at WVU United Hospital. Born on December 24, 1951, in Thomas, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Emma Huffman.

Mary was a cherished member of the Maple Grove Assembly of God, known for her warm faith and gentle spirit. She loved unwinding each afternoon with her favorite soap operas and cherished nothing more than time spent with her family-whether sharing Sunday dinners, holiday laughter, or quiet porch conversations. In her simple, heartfelt way, she blended devotion to God, her daily soaps, and deep love for her loved ones into a truly fulfilling life.

She is survived by her children, Milford Junior Moats and wife Patsy, and Danny Allen Moats; two grandchildren, Christopher Moats and Ashly Reckart; one great-granddaughter, Madison Kathyrn Reckart; Siblings, Linda May Licklyter, Jennie Moats, and Ruth Huffman.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2025, at 12 noon in the Aurora Cemetery with Pastor Jim Mou officiating.
