Milton M. "Monk" Whitacre, 74 of Elk Garden, WV, died September 7, 2010 at Heartland of Keyser.
He was born February 26, 1936 in Kitzmiller, MD, he was the son of the late Dewey and Viola Whitacre. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Welch) Whitacre.
"Monk" was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by one son, Edward Whitacre of Elk Garden, WV, one brother, Kenneth Ray Whitacre, Kitzmiller, MD, one sister Corrine Boyce, Mt. Lake Park and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A. 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller, MD, Thursday, September 9, 2010, 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be at the Kalbaugh Cemetery.
