Paul Douglas Thayer

Paul "Doug" Thayer, 71, of Markleysburg, and formerly of Swanton, passed away on September 30, 2026. Born on July 1, 1955, in Oakland, he was the son of Percy Walsh and Helen Irene (Steiding) Thayer.

He was a member of the Oakland Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed painting and drawing as a pastime. He was an automotive custom painter and was avid about cars and motorcycles.

He is survived by his previous wife and best friend, Katrina Thayer; his son Jasen Thayer; and siblings, Jon Thayer and wife Jeanne, Von Thayer and wife Deborah, and Lisa Thayer McGee and husband Phil.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelica Marie Thayer.

Doug's request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
