Peter E. Beachy, 86, of Oakland, MD, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at his home. Born on February 13, 1940, in Myersdale, PA, he was the son of Elmer N. and Vernie (Yoder) Beachy. Peter was a member of the Gortner Amish Church. He enjoyed farming, various carpentry, and mechanical work.

He is survived by his children, Lloyd Beachy and wife Esther (Bender) of Mountain Rest, SC, Viola Schrock, widow of Evan Schrock of Oakland, MD, Rachel, widow of Paul Bender of Bedford, PA, Raymond Beachy and wife Cora (Bender) of Oakland, MD, and Peter Jr. Beachy and wife Melody (Sommers) of Fredericktown, MO; 23 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four brothers, Noah Beachy of Burlington, MO, Norman Beachy of Salem, MO, Simon Beachy of Belvidere, TN, and Lewis Beachy of Oakland.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Susie Beachy; one infant brother, John Beachy; and two sons-in-law, Paul Bender and Evan Schrock.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all who visited, shared food, and encouragement during this time. Special thanks to Curtis Duff for the many hours of healthcare over the years.

Friends will be received on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Gortner Amish Church. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10 AM at the church, with Bishop Alvin Beachy officiating.
