Randall Friend

Randall Lee Friend, 70, of Deer Park, MD, passed away on November 4, 2025, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on September 8, 1955, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Leroy Friend and Norma "Jean" Michaels.

Randall graduated from Southern High School and worked for 36 years in the maintenance department at Garrett Regional Medical Center. He loved his job and was a very dedicated employee. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his cats, whom he loved dearly. He liked to fish, loved to dance, and in his earlier years, he rode motorcycles. He also enjoyed dressing up like Santa Claus. He was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Bonnie Lou (Gregory) Friend; his son, Michael Friend and wife Audrey; his daughter, Carrie Reckart and husband Jason; grandchildren, Kyle Hackett, Alex Friend, Austin Reckart and Emma Reckart; two great-grandchildren, Alia Myers, and Leora Friend; brothers, David Friend and wife Loretta, Stephen Friend and wife Wendi; sister, Deborah Crumley and husband David; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, 110 Church Lane, Oakland, MD, from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the church with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in the George Cemetery.
