Rita Faye Kosanic

Rita Faye (Cosner) Kosanic, 71, of Aurora, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Born on October 25, 1954, in Bayard. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Gay) Cosner.

Rita graduated from Union High School and married the love of her life, Dennis Kosanic. Together they built a life centered around family, love, and devotion. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in caring for the ones she loved.

She loved cooking for her family, tending her flowerbeds, and spending time outdoors feeding and watching her hummingbirds.

She is survived by two sons, Denny Kosanic and Brian Kosanic; grandchildren, Kendra Kosanic, Kambria Kosanic and Robbie Stinson, Baylee Kosanic, and Kaden Kosanic; and great-grandson, Grayson Kosanic.

She is also survived by her siblings; Ronald Cosner and wife Linda, Lee Cosner and wife Wilma, Larry Cosner and wife Tresha, Della and (late) husband Ralph, and Jimmy and wife Beth.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Dennis Kosanic; her son, David Kosanic; her daughter, Joni Kosanic; her sister, Rosemary Harvey; and her sister, Catherine Reall.

Rita's wishes for cremation have been honored, and no services are scheduled at this time. The Fredlock & Frenner Homes is honored to be serving the Kosanic family.
