Roger Lee Paugh

Roger "Tarzan" Lee Paugh, 79, of Oakland, passed away on May 29, 2026, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on November 7, 1946, in Kitzmiller, he was the son of the late Ira Hustler and Gladys Laviere (Schellenberg) Paugh.

Roger attended the Kitzmiller School and spent more than thirty years working in the coal mines, where he formed many lifelong friendships with the men who labored alongside him. Deeply devoted to his family, Roger always made time to be with them, finding his greatest joy in their company and creating memories that his loved ones will cherish forever.

He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Ramey and husband Jimbo, and Rogetta "Sis" Boldman and husband Steve; four grandchildren, Justin Ramey and wife Holly, Shane Ramey, Billy Ramey, and Scott Friend; five great grandchildren, Sage Ramey, Colton Ramey, Payton Ramey, Maevery Ramey, and Emmy Ramey; two siblings, Linda Delsignore and husband Carmon, and Carole Cuppett; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Judy Ann (Rexrode) Paugh, to whom he was married on November 9, 1969; three siblings, Jean Simpson and husband Jerry, Dale Paugh, and Darlene Barrett and husband Steven; and brother-in-law, Thomas Cuppett.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Kitzmiller Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Carroll Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
