Sharon Lynn Sullivan ran into her Lord and Savior's arms on October 24, 2026, surrounded by the family who loved her so deeply. Born January 2, 1954, in Oakland, Maryland, Sharon lived a life full of energy, devotion, humor, and unwavering love.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dean Sullivan, with whom she shared 38 beautiful years of building a joyful and faithful life together.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Inez Thomas of Oakland; her brother, Mike Fulmer; and her sister, Joy Fulmer - all of whom welcomed her into heaven with open arms, a few tricks, and plenty of jokes, just as she would have expected.
One of Sharon's greatest hopes was the day she would finally meet her two babies she lost and her three grandbabies who were already in heaven. She spoke of them often, with excitement and tenderness, imagining the moment she could finally hold them and love on them. Her family finds comfort knowing that reunion is now complete.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Rodeheaver, and husband Paul of Oakland, Maryland. Sharon's greatest pride was her children, who brought her endless joy; Stanley Shaffer and wife Stephanie of Corinth, WV, Lisa Shaffer and boyfriend Timothy Winner of Oakland, MD, David Shaffer and wife Mandy of Oakland, MD, Cody Sullivan and wife Brittany of Oakland, MD.
She is also survived by the twinkle of her eye - her grandchildren: Nathaniel Cassidy, Austin Cassidy, Dakota Shaffer and fiancée Willow Cutter, Tyler Shaffer, Liam Shaffer, and Natalie Sullivan.
Sharon retired from Bausch & Lomb in 1992, where she served as a Lens Inspector Supervisor. She later enjoyed her time working at Arrowhead Market, where her lively spirit and kindness were felt by everyone she met.
A puzzle enthusiast beyond the common person, Sharon could spend hours piecing together beautiful scenes. She loved tending to her flowers, caring for her birds, and staying busy - she was never one to sit still for long. Her heart for service was evident in her support of local charities and organizations, including Cindy's Fund, Hospice, and many others.
The family is planning a celebration of life in the near future to honor Sharon's beautiful spirit and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. If you would like to make a donation in Sharon's honor, please consider Hospice. The family is forever grateful for their compassionate care, with special thanks to nurses Lisa and Bri.
The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel is honored to be serving the Sullivan family.
