Shelby Jean Junkins

Shelby Jean (Davis) Junkins, 90, of Mt. Storm, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at home. Born on June 27, 1936, in Gormania, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (Miller) Davis.

Shelby shared her talent as a cook and a hard worker for numerous businesses over the years, including Cornish Manor, Sterling Processing, Bausch and Lomb, Exxon Station in Mt. Storm, Garrett County Playhouse, and Mt. Storm Grade School. In her free time, she loved reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening, birdwatching, cooking, sewing, and talking with family and friends.

Shelby is survived by her husband of almost 73 years, Milford "Bud" Junkins, to whom she was married on October 26,1953; four children, Dennis Junkins and wife Diane of Mt. Storm, WV, Steven "Beaver" Junkins of Keyser, WV, Michael "Don" Junkins of Mt. Storm, WV, and Cheryl Junkins and companion Francis Scarpelli of Frostburg, MD; grandchildren, Chanda Spragg, Jeremiah Junkins, Joshua Junkins, Dwayne Callis, Kevin Junkins, Randall Junkins, Jacob Junkins, and Delaney Junkins; 12 great grandchildren; and a daughter in law, Constance Junkins of Richmond, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Milford Junkins, Jr.; two grandchildren, Christina Callis and Christopher Junkins; and four siblings, Richard Davis, Ruth Lansbury, Dale Davis, and Robin Wilkins.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 872 Bismarck Road, Mt. Storm, WV. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the church with Pastor James Reed officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Storm Cemetery.
