Sheryl Ann Stone

Sheryl Ann Stone, 51, of Oakland, passed away on October 3, 2026 at home. Born on October 29, 1974, in Silver Spring, MD, she was the daughter of John and Betty (Childs) Stone.

Sheryl graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree. She worked as a patient access supervisor at Garrett Regional Medical Center. She loved her scoop shop, shopping, camping, and most of all spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her fiance, Harold Stroop; children, Anna Wisner and partner Hunter Norris of Keyser, WV, Matthew Wilson and partner Rae Melton of Oakland, and Bryanna Vasey and husband Chad of Westernport; grandchildren, Kennedi Norris, Clara Norris, Sienna Melton-Wilson, and Lawrence Vasey; and siblings, Scott Stone and wife Marcy of Hanover and Sandy Stone of Crofton.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Stone.

Sheryl's request for cremation was honored and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
