Stanley Wayne Moats, 65, passed away August 8, 2013 at his home in Aurora, WV.
He was born January 7, 1948 in Aurora, WV a son of the late Dayton Arley Moats and Margie Virginia Moats. He is survived by his wife, Evona Marie Collins Moats. He is also survived by 2 sons, Joshua J. Moats and Dayton W. Moats, both of Aurora, WV, 1 daughter, Wendy J. (Phillip) Crossland, Davis, WV, 1 brother, Lonnie Moats, Eglon, WV, 4 sisters, Joann Arnold, Aurora, WV, Retha Johnson, Eglon, WV, Linda Bell, Fairmont, WV, Carol (Pete) Pitts, Bridgeport, WV, and 3 grandchildren, Aspen Crossland, Nicholas Crossland, and Andrew Ray Moats. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Nathan Moats and 1 sister, Maxine Moats.
Mr. Moats was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for the majority of his life as a coal miner for Consol Energy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of UMWA and VFW.
Friends will be received Friday, August 9, 2013 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sonny McNeer officiating. Interment will follow in Aurora Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
