Thomas Jackson

Oakland

Thomas William Jackson, 70, of Oakland, passed away on November 22, 2025, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on November 15, 1955, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Fred and Betty (Hicks) Jackson.

Thomas, a proud graduate of Pattonville High School, spent much of his working life underground as a coal miner with Consol Energy, where he took pride in the hard, honest labor that helped power the region. After long shifts in the mines, he found peace on the banks of local rivers and lakes with a fishing rod in hand or in the quiet woods during hunting season, pursuits that grounded him and kept him close to the land he loved. Above all, Thomas cherished the time spent with his family; his greatest joy came from the laughter of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren filling the room, their visits the moments he looked forward to most, and the memories he carried with him always.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Angela (Blamble) Jackson, to whom he was married on July 1, 1978; two children, Angela (Adam) of Confluence, PA, and Tommi (Chad) of Oakland; five grandchildren, Nick Schroyer and wife Alexis, Ethan Schroyer (Kenzie), Brock Felton, Quentin Jackson, and Kileigh Harvey; two great grandchildren, Maggie Schroyer and Cooper Schroyer, and a great granddaughter due in December; his sister, Linda Bogusky and husband Tom; a sister in law, Darlene Jackson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Jackson and Fred Jackson, III.

Mr. Jackson's request for cremation was honored. There are no services scheduled at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel is honored to be serving the Jackson family.
