Travis Warren Smith, 55, of Oakland, passed away peacefully at his home on February 1, 2026. Born on April 13, 1970, in Bethesda, Maryland, he was the son of Richard N. Smith, who survives, and the late Loretta Ann (Minard) Smith.
Travis cherished his faith and the community it brought him. He attended Apostolic Bible Institute and Southern High School, and was a dedicated member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church, where he found spiritual strength and lasting friendships. In his leisure time, he delighted in the world of cars-whether restoring classics, discussing engines, or simply admiring the craftsmanship and power of a well-built vehicle. He was also an avid collector, always on the lookout for interesting pieces that caught his eye. He was great at holding a conversation. His greatest love was never leaving a quiet room. These passions brought him joy and provided countless hours of satisfaction and connection with others who shared his enthusiasm.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly D. (Free) Smith; his children, Cecil Smith and his wife Molly of Ohio, Duncan Smith and Carmen Smith, both of Oakland, and Aaron Smith and his fiance, Myah of Myersdale, PA; and his cherished grandchildren, Truett Oliver and Carrington Opal.
A memorial service to celebrate Travis's life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2 PM, in the Calvary Tabernacle - Apostolics Oakland Campus.
The Fredlock and Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel, is honored to be serving the Smith family during this time.
