Virgie Redman

March 21, 1937 — November 4, 2025

Piedmont

Virgie Alice Redman, 88, of Piedmont, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 4, 2025. Born on March 21, 1937, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Davis and Annie (Addison) Price.

Virgie, a proud graduate of Howard High School and crowned Ms. Howard High in 1955, dedicated over fifty years to the First Church of God in Christ, where she served on the Mother's Board and as its past secretary. She gave her heart to the community as a foster grandparent in the Tri-Town afterschool program. She remained an active member of the Tri-Town Senior Citizens, cherishing the senior trips during which she collected postcards and pencils as treasured mementos. Her home was always whole and alive with love, the phone line buzzing with conversations to family and friends. Still, above all, Virgie loved the Lord with unwavering faith, her kindness, compassion, and deep affection for children shining through in every act. She tended her flowers with the same gentle care she offered everyone, never turning a soul away, always ready with a warm smile and a kind word, and she loved her entire family more than life itself.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Andi), Lynn (Kevin), Gary, David (Andrea), Michelle, Lee Ann (William), Donna (Clay), Belinda, and James (Melissa); her grandchildren, Robby, Siovahan, Tyler, Tessa, Avion, Austin, Keenan, Marquita, Amanda, Tanosha, Micheal, Gary, Sharisse, Tyrell, Brandon, Chris, Allison, Erik, Aaron, Ryan, Anthony, Stephanie, Carissa, Chaz, Noah, Sierra, Mariah, Jay, Nicholy, Wesely, Rebekah, Trinity, Nathaniel, Greyson, Damon, Derrick, Sierra Dale, Michael, and Keith; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Sawyer, Brielle, Alayna, Freya, Gabriella, Camille, Nia, Harmoney, Carlos, Judah, Harper, John Jr., Carson, Amira, Brylan, Truvyn, Jayla, Carter, Emery, Myles, Justin, Jackson, Laci, Niasamone, Damones, Ariana, and RJ; her great great grandchildren, Rashad and Chyzon; her sister, Phyllis Hooker; sister in law, Wanda Twyman; special friends, Peggy and Jeff Foulks, Rose Twyman, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Olie Thomas Redman, and second husband, James Donald Washington, Sr.; her daughter, Selena; her daughter in law, Susan; her granddaughter, Aleena; her siblings, Ida Twyman, Virginia Demerett, Margaret Thompson, Mary Cromer, Beverly Washington, and Clifton "Buddy" Green.
