Wesley Edward Alexander, 28, of Oakland, passed away on Sunday, August 9, at his home. Born on February 27, 1998, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Russell Broze Alexander Jr. and Cynthia (Beebe) Alexander.

Wes attended Southern High School and graduated in 2016. Wes was an old soul with the biggest heart, and he never knew a stranger. He had a kind and caring nature that made it easy for him to connect with others, and he was always willing to share a conversation, a laugh, or a helping hand. He had a deep interest in history and a special love for his family and its history. He took great pride in learning about his family genealogy and preserving the stories, memories, and family heirlooms that connected him to those who came before him. He understood the importance of the things passed down through generations and cherished the history and meaning behind them. His love of his family's past was a reflection of how deeply he valued his family and the connections that made them who they were.

Wes is survived by his loving sister, Autumn Sanders and husband Brent, loving brother, Rusty Alexander III and girlfriend Becca O'Brien, all of Oakland; aunts, Mary Adams and husband Bill of Jefferson, Ohio, Sharon Rinker and husband John of Oakland, MD, Paula Gauntner and husband Dennis of Madison, Ohio; and numerous extended family members and friends who were all very important to him.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, loved him, and had the privilege of calling him family or friend.

His wishes to be cremated were honored, and a private memorial will be held for family and close friends.
