William Small

William Michael "Mike" Small, Sr., 76, of Davis, passed away on May 17, 2025. Born on May 22, 1948, in Parsons, he was the son of the late William Henry Small and Zelda Marie (Roy) James.

Mike was a hardworking man who was employed at Kingsford Charcoal, Blackwater Falls State Park, and Canaan Valley State Parks. His coworkers knew him as "Bear" due to his sheer strength. In his free time, he loved to hunt, fish, and watch classic western films. A truly kind soul, Mike never lost his temper. With his quiet demeanor and generous heart, he was delightfully silly, always choosing to spark joy and laughter over worry.

He is survived by his wife, Latrella (Liller) Small; his sons, William Michael Small, Jr. and wife Jessica Lynne of Davis, Caleb Zachary Small and wife Katie of Parsons, and Prentice DeWayne Small of Taiwan; his grandchildren, Lucian Elias and Samuel Barrett; and his siblings, Donna Mason of Thomas and Dolores Leavell of Apopka, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Poling.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel, 567 Thomas Ave., Davis. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Keplinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
